
















Now, on the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the wonderful Virgilio Piñera, the producer is beginning the screening of Si vas a comer espera por Virgilio, based on a text by José Milián.
In order to enter the Piñera universe –as the scholar Omar Valiño has called the collosall work of the author of Las furias (1941), La carne de René (1949), La broma colossal (1989), among others –the moviemaker and scriptwriter includes the interpretations of Iván García (Virgilio Piñera), Francisco Javier Casas (Pepe) and Valia Valdés (Ella).
The movie, which will be shot in the Sonocaribe studios, includes the direction of photography by Professor Raúl Rodríguez, the art direction by Nelson García, the production direction by Elisandra Reigosa, the wardrobe design by Abrahan and José Luís Rodríguez, while stage production and environment will be in charge of Roberto Hernández.
On the other hand, the soundtrack design will be in charge of Daphne Guisado and original music by Professor Juan Piñera. Production will be made by the young editor Daniel Diez Jr. and first direction assistant will be Francisco Castro.
This movie is a joint production between the Cuban Radio and Television Institute (ICRT in Spanish) and the National Staging Arts Council, with the collaboration of the Cuban Movie Institute (ICAIC in Spanish) and the Small Theater from Havana.
