Federico Uhrbach, outstanding Cuban poet and writer was born

He was born in Matanzas in October 1st, 1873 and died in Havana in July 31st, 1932. He collaborated in La Habana Elegante, El Fígaro, Gris y Azul, Revista de Cayo Hueso, El Yara, Cuba y América, and others. Together with José Govín he settled the separatist weekly Los Azules. He was in charge of regular sections in La Nación Weekly. He married with poetress Elena Borrero, sister of Juana (1895). Among his works are Dolorosa (Painful), Previewed in the National Theatre, with music by Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes; Amor de ensueño y de romanticismo (1908), the group of poems “Flores de hielo” (Flowers of Ice) published in Gemelas together with the poetries by his brother Carlos Pío, and others. Founder member of the National Academy of Arts and Letters.

She worked in movies, theatre, radio and television, and became successful and popular in the Martí Theater and in Radio Progreso.

He was born in October 1st, 1908. He played guitars and maracas. With his group he sang in Havana recreative and leisure centers. Among his compositios are: La media naranja To el mundo quiere bailar, and many others.

Actor, director, playwright, composer and singer Héctor Quintero was born

He was born in October 1st, 1942. One of the great personalities of contemporary Cuban culture. Polifacético on his artistic career, he has projected as actor in the four media (movies, radio, TV, theatre), being besides director, playwright, composer and singer.
Since the premiere of his earliest theatre plays: \"Contigo pan y cebolla\" and \"El Premio flaco\", up to the most recents: \"Te sigo esperando\" and \"El lugar ideal\", he has become the daily Cuban life theatre reporter par excellence, and his theatre has been a people´success for more than three decades, meanwhile he has been published in dozens on American and European countries.
As an actor he joined the theater groups: Milanés, Conjunto Dramático Nacional and Teatro Estudio. For years he was General Director of the Teatro Musical de la Habana (Musical Theater of Havana), President of the Cuban Center of the International Institute of Theatre of UNESCO
The Award \"Por la Cultura Nacional\" (\"For the National Culture\") and the \"Alejo Carpentier\" Medal have been conferred to him.

TV Broadcasting of the first chapter of soap opera "Senderos de Amor".

In October 1st, 1952 the first chapter of the TV novel (soap opera) "Senderos de amor" "Love Paths") was broadcasted by CMQ-TV Channel 6, from Havana, at 1.30 P.M., thus inaugurating this genre in Ibero America. The leading couple´s role were Armando Bianchi and Adela Escartín, with Sol Pinelli, her daughter Sol Aparicio Pinelli and Carlos Paulín, among others, in the supporting roles.
