He was born in Rodas, Las Villas, in July 10th, 1904 and died in Havana, in June 12th, 1972. He studied Elementary School in Havana. In 1923 he began working journalism as a reporter in Cuba, Libertad, El Día, La Lucha, La Noche, El Imparcial, Heraldo de Cuba, Diario de la Marina, Excelsior, El País, Información and Avance newspapers, where he was in charge of a section dealing with just published Cuban books. He got several journalistic awards such as "Varona" (1945).
He attended national and foreign journalistic congresses, joined the Reporters Association, the National College of Journalists and other societies, like the Hispanic American Institution of Culture, and the Playwright Society. Writer of Comedies, created numerous dramas where he became aware of social problems and hipocresy of ruling customs. Among his plays are: Huyendo de la verdad, Los muertos viven, Los que tienen culpa, Adulterio ocasional, La moral del divorcio, Violación, Multitudes. Besides, he is author of single-dramas: Luz en la sombra, La querida, Yo lo maté and Fusilamiento.
Permanency of Finlay´s Doctrines to the XV International Congress on History of Medicine was written with Horacio Abascal in 1957. César González Expósito was Secretary of the Cuban Society of History of Medicine and historian of Cuban Ministry of Public Health, where he was the director of the “Cuadernos de Historia de Salud Pública”. From 1962 he was Vice Director of the “Carlos J. Finlay” Historical Museum of Medical Sciences, from the Academy of Sciences of Cuba. He was also the compiler of the work Bicentenario de Tomás Romay: 1764-1849. He kept working in the museum until his death.
