He was born in Alquizar in December 20th, 1899 and died in January 16th, 1934. Tireless fighter for the humble people cause. He appeared in public life during the historic Protesta de los Trece (Protest of the Thirteen). Along his short life he always sided Truth and Justice.
Member of the Grupo Minorista, secretary and professor of the “José Martí” People´s University, delegate to the Cuban Section of the Antimperialist League of the Americas, Law Advisor of the Confederación Nacional Obrera de Cuba (Worker´s National Trade Union of Cuba), member of the Pro-Freedom of Julio Antonio Mella, militant member of the Central Committee of the First Marxist-Leninist Party of Cuba. Soul and guide of the general strike which overthorwn Gerardo Machado´s dictatorship, guider of the preliminary works of the Fourth National Congress of Trade Unionism, whose closing coincided with his death. His brief, but intense, work was gathered in his posthumous volume La pupila insomne foreword by Raúl Roa.
