He was born on January 26th, 1924. Being very young he joined the People´s Socialist Part (1942). In 1949 he graduated in San Alejandro Visual Arts Academy, and began working in the newspaper Noticias de Hoy, where he remined until 1953. He attended the Congress for the Peace held in Wien, 1952. From 1953 to 1958 he developed underground tasks in the Carta Semanal (Weekly Letter), from the People´s Socialist Party and worked as commercial draftsman in several publicity enterprises. As visual artist he worked in several expositions, both in Cuba and abroad. He travelled through the late Soviet Union, People´s Republic of China and some Eastern Europe countries. In 1965 the cantata “A Manuel Ascunce”, music by Nilo Rodríguez and inspired on his texts, was premiered in the Professoral School at Topes de Collantes, la cantata. Draftsman in Granma and professor of drawing in the National School of Arts. He also cultivated paintingand engraving.
His works are in the Cuban Art Collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts and in private collections in Cuba and inother countries.
