He was born in Arroyo Naranjo on April 30th, 1919 and died in Miami, United States of America, on January 20th, 1981. He was raised in Santiago de Las Vegas municipality, where he began to sing tangos in the Teatro Popular and as Ritmo Alegre orchestra singer. Later he joined the Sexteto Progreso. Afterwards he, sang in the PaulÃn, Quintana Melody Boys, and Habana Casino orchestras, and in the conjuntos Kuvavana and Casino, until becoming a soloist. He was heard in radio, television and night clubs, and recorded several LP´s. He was one of the greatest bolero singers born in Cuba. In 1965 he settled in Miami, where he kept singing and recording very popular boleros.
