Writer Victor Agostini was born.

He was born on October 6, 1908. Since he was very young he moved to Havana. His earliest articles and stories were published in El Bancario. He settled, together with Hilda Zell the group of agrupación de narrators Buró del Cuento. He collaborated in Bohemia, Carteles, El Mundo, Casa de las Américas and Gaceta de Cuba, among others.
1915
Composer, musical professor and critic Edgardo Martin was born.

He was born on October 6, 1915. His mother grandmother imparted him his earliest musical studies. Later he moved to Havana, where he studied piano with Jascha Fishermann and Cesar Pérez Sentenat as well as composition with José Ardevol.
Doctor in Pedagogics from the University of Havana. He was Professor of the Municipal Conservatory, and later in the National School of Arts. He imparted numerous courses on aspects of music in different parts of Cuba. He wrote articles on musical themes in Cuban publishings, an the book Panorama histórico de la música en Cuba. He joined the Grupo de Renovación Musical. He has composed, Fugas para cuerdas, Preludios para piano, Soneras para orquesta, SinfonÃa No.1, Concierto para viento, TrÃo para maderas, as well as works for; voice and piano, choir compositions and some incidental music, and later Canto de héroes (cantata) among other works.

Musicographer and professor Zoila Gómez was born.

She was born on October 10, 1948. Studied in the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory. She won a Prize on biography by her work Amadeo Roldán in the Pablo Hernández Contest(1974).
