Andrés Pedroso, who stood out as musician, orchestra conductor and composer, was born on September 6, 1942 in Ciego de Ávila. He studied music in his native city and became a percussionist and bassist of several ensembles and later entered the National School of Art.
For several years he has been the Director of the group Manguaré. As a composer, he has created national competition award-winning works and have been popular in Cuba and abroad. He is the author, among others of "Junto a mi fusil mi son", "Tonada y feeling para un caminante", "En casa del licenciado" and "La Defenderemos".
