On October 8, 1967, Ernesto Che Guevara made in Bolivia his last combat for the liberation of the exploited peoples of the world. With the decursar of the time, the Che has become motivation source for Cuban creative dissimilar and foreigners.
One of the internationally best-known musical pieces dedicated to Che Guevara is entitled Hasta Siempre and was composed by Carlos Puebla in October 1965.
Carlos Puebla said that the idea of composing this song came while Fidel was reading the farewell letter from Che to the Cuban people. Then Puebla thought that although Che had left to other lands of the world, his beloved presence was to stay here in Cuba forever.
The song Hasta Siempre has had multiple versions by Cuban and foreign performers and groups.
