He was born in November 9th, 1913 and died in August 24th, 2001. His musical education began when he was eighth years old. He studied solfeggio, theory and clarinet with his uncle Abelardo Junco, besides, he studied with maestro Pedro Graces. In 1924 he joined the Cienfuegos Explorers Band, from which he would become soloist next year. Some time later he would play in popular orchestras, and in 1929 he became soloist of the Banda Municipal de Cienfuegos (Cienfuegos Municipal Band). In 1933 he moved to Havana and joined several orchestras from the capital, as soloist clarinet, included the Philarmonic. Since 1960 he became soloist of the National Symphonic Orchestra, and in 1971 he settled the group Nuestro Tiempo (Our Time), conducted by Maestro Manuel Duchesne Cuzán. He also worked continuously as professor.
