The Pablo de la Torriente Brau Cultural Centre is a non-profitrable, independent cultural institution officially settled in mid 1996. It was created under the sponsorship of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) (National Association of Artists and Writers of Cuba). Among its aims are to encourage the creation of oral history and testimony works, to foster the retrieval of the collective memory pertaining to the Cuban nation and aranging workshops, contests and events on the previous thematics, as part of the necessary environment to debate the Cuban life and culture.
